Money Duke University psychology professor, Dan Ariely, conducted a study that involved employees at an Intel factory in Israel. Those involved in the study received one of three messages that offered them pizza, compliments, or a cash bonus if they assembled a certain amount of computer chips that day. The control group received no message. On the first day, the pizza group increased productivity by 6.7 percent. The compliment was close behind at 6.6 percent.
