How Li’l Rizzo’s Began
Although you can get pizza and pasta at a lot of different places, there are few that can call themselves the best. At Li'l Rizzo's, we have been named best Italian restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks six years in a row. We love food, especially Italian, and it definitely shows! With every bite that you take, you will be able to tell that it was made with love and the freshest ingredients around. If you want to learn more about Lake of the Ozarks' favorite Italian restaurant, we have everything you need to know about Li'l Rizzo's below.
How It Began
It all started in 1985 when Carol Borders moved to the Lake of the Ozarks and opened the original Rizzo’s Restaurant in the location of the storied Oaks Tavern on Bagnell Dam Blvd. Rizzo’s was an instant success and one of the few restaurants that stayed open through the winter. The original Rizzo’s was remodeled and reopened as Maggie Mae’s in 1991.
A second location was added at the corner of Hwy 54 and State Route KK in 1987. Since this new store was a more casual version of the original restaurant, offering pizzas and sandwiches it was named Li’l Rizzo’s. It remained open until 1989.
A third location opened in 1990 on State Road HH (Horseshoe Bend Parkway). Once Li’l Rizzo’s on HH was opened it no longer made sense to continue operating the original Rizzo’s as an Italian restaurant and it was transformed into Maggie Mae’s.
Li’l Rizzo’s in Osage Beach opened in June 1997. Currently, we have two convenient locations, Lake Ozark on Horseshoe Bend Parkway and Osage Beach on Premium Outlets Drive across the street from Dierbergs.
The Amazing Italian Food
The truth is, you can get pizza and pasta lots of places these days. We know that, which is why our mission is to become your favorite restaurant! So how do we do that? With gourmet pizza, pasta, world-famous house salad and legendary service! The atmosphere is unpretentious, fun and “Lake Casual." By the way, Gourmet refers to our fresh ingredients, secret hand-crafted recipes and the love we put into every dish.
Our pizza is thin crust with dough made from scratch (hand-tossed available at the Osage Beach location). Only the finest meats, cheeses and freshest vegetables adorn the top. Since most of the pasta recipes originate from “The Hill” area of St. Louis, you can expect to find many regional favorites, like toasted ravioli, baked mostaccioli, cannelloni con Bianco, lasagna and several house specialty pastas. If there is one stand-out item on the menu, it has to be the house salad. Cold, crisp and fresh, a blend of iceberg and romaine lettuce, diced red peppers, green onions and Provel cheese tossed in a red wine vinegar based creamy Italian dressing and sprinkled with parmesan cheese.
The Locations
At our Lake Ozark location, enjoy outside dining with a beautiful view of the Lake of the Ozarks. The restaurant is only 2 miles west of Bagnell Dam Blvd., on Horseshoe Bend Pkwy. If you want to enjoy the Big Game, come to our Osage beach location! It is conveniently located across the street from Dierberg’s at the west entrance to the Outlet Mall.
