Appetizers make a great start to any meal, and we mean ANY meal. Appetizer, in fact, refers specifically to “building the appetite”.  At Li’l Rizzo’s, we take our appetizers very seriously. We serve a variety of nine of the best appetizers at the Lake of the Ozarks.   • What’s the difference between an appetizer and hors-d'oeuvres? Hors-d'oeuvres translates to “outside the meal” and is generally a one-bite item that is stationary or passed around and served on a tray.

  • Sometimes, appetizers are served by themselves without a meal afterward. The most common place for this is at many receptions and cocktail parties.

  • In China, appetizers are called lěng pán ("cold plate"), or qián cài ("before dish") in Mandarin.

Appetizers At Li’l Rizzo’s


Spinach, Green Chili, and Jalapeno Dip
This delicious, creamy spinach dip is served with chopped green chilies and jalapenos. It makes a delicious start to your meal, especially if you want to spice things up a bit.

Toasted Ravioli
Our meat-filled ravioli is sprinkled with parmesan and then served with a side of meat sauce. This dish is a perfect combo to pair with any meal on our menu and creates the perfect starter dish.

This is one appetizer that does not need an introduction. It really doesn’t get much better than garlic and cheese melted onto a piece of bread.

Cheese Sticks
These delicious mozzarella sticks are deep-fried to a golden brown and served with a side of marinara sauce.

It doesn’t get more Italian than a 6-ounce homemade meatball that is served with meat sauce and parmesan cheese!

Portobello Mushrooms
Delectable mushrooms are sautéed in butter and garlic and then are topped with Rizzo’s marinade. If you’re looking for the perfect appetizer to start your meal, this is it!
