1. Superhero
With the rise of superhero movies hitting the big screen these last few years, superhero costumes are becoming more and more popular. It's easy to become a crime fighter, or at least it is for Halloween! With a little felt and fabric, some ribbon, scissors and ten minutes, your kid can be on the street collecting candy the heroic way in no time. With the felt, cut out a mask shape with eye holes and a hole on each side. Tie the ribbon around and viola! you have a superhero mask. For the cape, you can refashion and old t-shirt into a cape. Cut off the sleeves and cut up the sides. Lay your shirt flat, mark a line with chalk or pencil up from the bottom of the shirt to around the neck and down. Cut along this line and cut a slit in the neck. If you want, iron on a decal of their favorite superhero logo. We may be biased, but our favorite is Pizza Boy!
Princesses are an easy go-to for little girls. From traditional princesses with crowns and ballgowns to fairy princesses with wands and wings. With lots of tulle and elastic, your little girl can be transformed in the princess she is! Measure the elastic and cut to the appropriate length. Measure and cut tulle - longer for dress and shorter for skirt. Tie the tulle around the elastic. For fairy princess, make the tulle a dress and tie some ribbon around the waist and pair with a wand and wings. For traditional princesses, make the tulle a skirt and pair with a crown!

3. Animals
Lions, tigers and bears - oh my! It's a jungle out there, so why not join them. There are so many different animal costumes. Some are easy to make and some are easy to purchase! If you want to go the DIY route, you're in luck. Gather the appropriate colored clothing - i.e. black cat could be black pant and shirt. For whiskers, use makeup or face paint. With some cardboard, cut out the shape of the animals ears and attach to a headband with glue.
4. Witch
If you are looking for an easy DIY witch costume, you've come to the right place. Make tulle tutu the same as the princess, but this time use black or orange tulle - or both. To make the hat, take a foam sheet and form to a cone. Cut off the excess foam. Use hot or tacky glue to attach the hat together. Use a second piece of foam and cut a round circle for the brim of the hat. Set the cone on the round piece of foam for the size of the center and cut out. Attach the two pieces with hot or tacky glue. After getting the outfit together, now you need a broom. Find a stick that is three feet long, or purchase a dowel rod. Collect 15 - 20 twigs. Bunch twigs around base of stick and wrap tightly around the bunch and secure them to the base of the stick with twine. Add a few dabs of hot or tacky glue to the loose sticks.
5. Pizza Chef Costume
It's safe to say that kids love pizza, so why not let them be a pizza chef! With some felt and a hot glue gun, you can easily make a chef's hat! For the trim, cut out a two inch wide strip. Measure the size of their head, cut off extra and glue the ends together. Cut out a circle for the top of the hat. If you want, you can take a needle and thread and bunch the bottom of the circle together. After gathering the bottom together, glue the top of the hat to the bottom. Pair the chefs hat with an old apron and a pizza box from the best Italian restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks (of course) and you've got yourself a master pizza artisan!
