Happy National Waitstaff Day!
Each year, National Waitstaff Day is observed on May 21! The holiday was created to show appreciation for the hard work our waiters and waitresses do each day. It is a day to say thank you for everything they do to make our Lake of the Ozarks dining experiences enjoyable. Restaurant owners and managers should also recognize and express their appreciation to their dedicated employees! Here are some of the qualities that make our Li'l Rizzo's waitstaff so great:
1. Knowledge.
Being familiar with every item on the menu will not only help the waitstaff with taking orders, but will also allow them to make suggestions to the customer. Avoiding frustration with the customer is easier when the waitstaff have the knowledge of each dish and what it comes with. Familiarity with the daily specials will also help to enhance the customer experience. Everyone always likes a good deal.
2. Friendliness.
Food service is obviously a customer service job. The goal of the waitstaff is to provide excellent service to all customers. People go out to eat not just for the food, but also the experience. Friendliness is key in enhancing the customers experience. A good personality will also increase the chances of a good tip. However, you don't want to get too friendly. Depending on the crowd, you might be able to joke around a bit, but remember to stay professional and respect the customer's personal space.
3. Efficiency.
One of the largest complaints at restaurants is how much time the customer has to wait for either service or their food to arrive. Even though the waitstaff typically doesn't have any control over how long it takes for the food to get out, they can control how attentive they are to the customers. Time management comes in to play here and a good waiter or waitress will keep track of how long its been since the table was last checked on. Making sure drinks are always full and the orders get entered correctly is important for a high-quality dining experience.
At Li'l Rizzo's, we strive to give our guests a great dining experience in a unique Italian atmosphere. Our Italian restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks loves the vacation crowd and locals alike. Our friendly servers and bartenders make everyone feel welcome and they work hard to make yours a great experience!
